About Kelvin Lim

Kelvin started his coach training in 1997 with the founding father of personal coaching Thomas J Leonard – the founder of Coach U, the International Coach Federation, Coachville, and the International Association of Coaching. As one of the closest students of Thomas Leonard, Kelvin was also part of the team that contributed and designed many coaching tools and techniques as early as the year 2000 that are still being used in the market today. He is also part of the research team of Coach University and in the ethics committee during the early days of the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Known as one of the pioneers of the coaching industry in Asia, Kelvin takes a unique position in understanding how coaching tools are designed and have modified them along the way as he encountered different practitioners and clients across different countries and cultures. This is an ongoing process as he continues to refine the techniques as the world evolves.

In 2004, Kelvin Lim founded his coaching company, Executive Coach International (ECI). The company went on to receive the Singapore Promising SME Awards 2014 from the Small Medium Business Association (SMBA) and the Singapore Prestige Award in 2015. Shortly after the creation of ECI, he obtained the highest certification for coaching from the International Coach Federation (ICF), the Master Coach Certification in 2005, cementing his place as the first ever ICF Master Coach in the South East Asia region. He has also created his own coach training methodology, the TruCoach© methodology which is unique to ECI.

Aside from his personal coaching accolades and creation of effective training methodologies, Kelvin has a knack of pushing his own limitations and personal excellence boundaries. As such, he had also set a new high in the Singapore Book of Records for coaching the most number of people personally coached by a single person in consecutive days. The record currently stands at 522 one-to-one sessions in a single month. Being renowned in the coaching industry internationally, Kelvin was also invited to be one of the Executive Producers and featured coaches in a coaching documentary, Leap, which won a number of awards, including Gold Winner, International Independent Film Awards.
